How Do I Make An Appointment?

Our practice uses a triage system to assist in guiding our patients to the most appropriate medical care. In some cases ailments can be dealt with during this telephone consultation without the need of patients to attend the surgery.

diary_appointmentPlease phone to speak to a receptionist to book a triage appointment.  A clinician will then call you back & discuss your symptoms and allocate an appropriate appointment.

Should your doctor request a follow up appointment with you, please phone the surgery and advice the receptionist you require a follow up appointment.

We ask that you wear a face covering/mask when attending for an appointment as per government guidelines.

Please be considerate to other patients and remember 1 APPOINTMENT IS FOR 1 PROBLEM AND 1 PATIENT.  Asking the GP to deal with multiple problems or see additional family members, in one 10 minute appointment can cause the GP to run late which has an impact on other patients.

Should you turn up 10 minutes or more late for your appointment you will not be seen and your appointment will be rescheduled.

If you feel your consultation may be lengthy, ask the receptionist or practice nurse for a DOUBLE APPOINTMENT when you book for triage, sometimes the nurse will arrange this prior to your visit.

We offer a text messaging service to all our patients to ensure you do not forget your appointment. If you would like to take advantage of this service, please provide your mobile phone number to our reception staff. You will then automatically receive confirmation and reminders.

If you no longer need your appointment please let us know or if your appointment was booked on line you can cancel it using the same facility.

Extended Access

The surgery is able to offer extra appointments at Bath Street from 6pm-8pm Monday to Friday.

If there are no routine appointments available at the surgery, there is a possibility of you being offered one at Bath Street depending on your requirements.  The surgery receptionist asks for your consent to share your records with the health professionals at Bath Street in order for them to treat you.  If you agree to share this information, we will set consent on your electronic record.  If you do not agree, the service will not be available to you and you will need to make an appointment within the practice as normal.

These appointments are on a first come first served basis.  Once you have had your appointment, a report will be sent electronically to your surgery to be filed in your health records.

We also are able to offer evening video consultations with a GP through Push Dr, please ask our receptionist for further information.

Telephone Consultations

We offer a comprehensive telephone consultation service if you feel that your medical problem can be dealt with over the telephone, please talk to our reception team who will arrange for a Doctor to call you.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
